She was prescribed Ozempic to lose weight, even though the company says “it’s not a weight loss drug.” She described her experience as follows: “ate less, didn’t feel good. Even drinking water would upset my stomach and make me feel nauseous. 3 months later... “Everything came back full force... all of the cravings I’ve struggled with, the sweets, the junk food...” She gained 8 lbs, then went to 20 lbs.

She began drinking at the age of 13, and eventually by the time of turning 17 she developed an eating disorder. She said her saving grace was her intellect, and how she was keeping up with her AP classes and getting good scores on her SAT. When she went to Emory University she continued her journey of life and realized she didn’t need to be drunk or high to enjoy true moments with friends and family. She said one of the most helpful things was taking up old interests and adding those to her schedule.

His mom said he was a regular teenager, full of life and adventure. One day he had started experimenting with drugs at the age of 13 because of a dare, but this developed into much more than experimenting. His parents sent him to Minnesota Teen Challenge to try and get him help. December 14, 2004, he was found dead with injected illegal substances.
